Children's Summer Reading Program Registration

Children of all ages (up through 5th grade, completed), are invited to participate in the 2019 Summer Reading Program. The theme this year is A Universe of Stories. The program will run June 3-July 27. Online registration begins May 25 and in-person registration begins June 3 at 9:00 am. This year’s program is sponsored by the Theisen Family Foundation and the Friends of the James Kennedy Public Library.

Kids age 3+ will receive a book bag, free book, and other goodies, including a ball chain or keychain when they register. They will then keep track of how many minutes they read and earn beads and brag tags to add to their chains. Sports beads, glow in the dark beads, animal beads, glitter beads, and more will be available, along with a variety of brag tags. For every 12 hours a participant reads they will earn another brag tag, book, and entry into the grand prize drawing. Online registrants must pick up their reading chains at the library.

Children under age 3 will receive a page of fun brain-building activities at registration. Complete all the activities and receive a goody bag and a free book.
