Join us in the parking lot adjacent to the JKPL to get up close with some of the equipment the Dyersville Public Works/Street Department uses to keep our city running. As a special feature, the City’s John Deere 524K front-end loader will be parked in the lot while the actual simulator John Deere uses for training operators will be in the library. Families are also invited to bring their toy trucks, cars, tractors, or other equipment and play in a sand pile in the city parking lot. TOMY has donated two Big Scoop Loaders and two Big Scoop Dump Trucks for people to play with. These toys will become drawing prizes at the end of the event! Temporary tattoos, giveaways, and other family friendly activities will also be offered. During this time, videos about Public Works and refreshments will be available in the Hoffman Room. Don’t miss the historic Dyersville street and sewer construction plans from the early 1900’s which will be on exhibit inside the library along with the plan drawings and renderings from current and recent projects. All ages welcome but children under 8 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
