Join us and learn about legacy letters and write one of your own.  The main purpose of writing a legacy letter is to communicate to family, loved ones, and future generations what matters most in a person’s life. This class will cover the history of legacy letters, a tradition that dates back to Biblical times, and how this relates to contemporary writing. There will be guided exercises to help participants draw from their life experiences to pen wisdom, insight, life stories, and special messages. Each participant will complete at least one legacy letter during the workshop. Led by Sue Schermann, Certified Legacy Letters instructor. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

This resource is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act as administered by State Library of Iowa.
