Children's Day/Book Day, also known as El día de los niños/El día de los libros (Día), is a celebration of children, families, and reading that is  held annually and culminates on  April 30. The celebration emphasizes the importance of advocating literacy for every child regardless of linguistic and cultural background. This year the JKPL will celebrate with a family story time based on the book Mama Panya’s Pancakes  by Mary and Rich Chamberlain. After the story, we will make (and eat) the pancakes in the story. There will be a drawing for a mbira (African thumb piano) for someone to take home. All ages welcome, but children under age 6 need an adult companion.
