What is TACKL?

TACKL is the Teen Advisory Council of the Kennedy Library. Teens in this group help library staff create exciting and interesting programs and activities for their peer group, select library materials, and volunteer for special projects. TACKL is open to all 7th-12th graders in public or private schools or 13-18 year olds who are home-schooled.

Where do we meet?
Meetings are held at the James Kennedy Public Library in Dyersville. For dates and times, call the library at (563)875-8912 and ask to speak with Kim.

What do I have to do?
You will need to attend meetings regularly and work with other members to promote the library. You will be expected to have positive ideas, be able to listen and work with others, and be willing to help the library meet the needs of your peers.

Benefits of Membership
1) You get to meet new people.
2) You get to help choose books for the teen section.
3) Members get first choice of new teen books!
4) Members’ volunteer hours can count for community service.
5) Annual buying trips to select books for the library.
6) Lots more– just ask your friendly TACKL representative!
