Books for Lunch
This group gathers on the first Monday of each month to discuss different books selected by the group. Everyone is welcome to come, listen and share. Bring your lunch, if you wish. Dessert and beverages are provided by the participants or the Friends of the Library. Copies of each title should be available to borrow from the library.
Inspirational Fiction: A Novel Approach to Faith
Join us the second Tuesday of every month at 7:00 pm (starting October 2012) for this book discussion series featuring Inspirational Fiction. This series will include a variety of books that weave religious faith into the characters and storylines. Copies of each book are available to check out at the library. New members welcome at any time.
Paranormal Book & Movie Club
The paranormal book club is a meeting of people who enjoy the creepier side of life. Discussions will cover books, movies, comic books, etc. - anything dealing with the supernatural. Topics will range from oddball styles of media to horror. Some of the material will have adult themes and may not be appropriate for the young or squeamish. Meetings are on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of every month at 6:00 pm. Copies of any book selected are available to check out at the library.
Reading for Change book club
This is a traveling book club the JKPL is hosting in partnership with the Riverview Center. This club meets on the first Thursday of each month (starting September 2012) to discuss a book centered on the topic of sexual violence. Jessica Pape, a Violence Prevention Educator with Riverview Center, will facilitate the discussions and copies of each book will be available to check out from the library. This club is appropriate for all ages Middle School and older. The location changes from month to month so please call the library or check the website for details.
