BOOK DISCUSSION GROUPS:

Books for Lunch Book Discussion Group

This group gathers on the first Monday of each month at 12:00 p.m. to discuss different books selected by the group.  Everyone is welcome to come, listen and share.  Bring your lunch, if you wish.  Dessert and beverages are provided by the participants and the Friends of the Library.  Copies of each book will be available to borrow from the library.  New members welcome at any time.

Paranormal Book Club

The paranormal book club is a meeting of people who enjoy the creepier side of life. Discussions will cover books, movies, comic books, etc. - anything dealing with the supernatural. Topics will range from oddball styles of media to horror. Meetings are on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of every month at 6:00 pm. Typically, the group discusses a book at the first meeting of the month and watches a movie at the second meeting of the month.  Some of the material will have adult themes and may not be appropriate for the young or squeamish. Copies of each book will be available to borrow from the library.  New members welcome at any time.

A Novel Approach to Faith Book Discussion Series

Join us the second Tuesday of every month at 7:00 pm for this book discussion series featuring Inspirational Fiction. This series will include a variety of books that weave religious faith into the characters and storylines. Copies of each book are available to borrow from the library. New members welcome at any time.

Not Your Average Read Book Discussion Series

Join Matt Muilenburg, a former English instructor at Wichita State University and the current editor of the Dyersville Commercial, for a book club that focuses on under-appreciated novels by award-winning authors that don't receive the due they deserve. This group will meet on the third Thursday of each month at 7:00pm. Copies of each book will be available to borrow from the library.  New members welcome at any time.
