As you know, the James Kennedy Public Library almost always has something going on!  We enjoy bringing a variety of events and programs to the community including special events like author visits, gaming days, classes, and special guest speakers.  But we also have a lot of regularly scheduled events that occur monthly including movies, a variety of book clubs, a genealogy club, and a weekly gathering of crafters; just to name a few!  Keeping track of all of these events can sometimes be hard to do and the library is trying to make it easier so we have several ways you can discover what is happening at your library.

The first way is with one of the library’s paper list of events.  Around the last week of every month the library prints up a newsletter of all its events for the upcoming month.  Included in this is a short synopsis of each event along with a calendar.  Once these are printed you can find them at the circulation desk and a copy can be picked up any time during the month.  You can also print a copy of this newsletter off of the library website.  Just follow the link at the bottom of the Home page.

The second way you can keep track of the library’s events is on the library website (www.dyersville.lib.ia.us).  The Home page always has a list of upcoming special events listed in the middle of the page.  If you want to see a listing of all the events at the library, both special and regularly scheduled, see the sidebar down the right side of the Home page.  You can see the next five events listed plus you can click on the “Upcoming Events” link to see all the upcoming events at the library.

The third way you can keep track of the library’s events is with social media.  The library is on Facebook and on Twitter (@dyersvillelib).  We post upcoming events and information about any important announcements on both.  So “Like” us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter and you’ll always know what is going on at the library!

A new way you can keep track of the library’s events is by signing up for our new email newsletter.  Starting the week of November 19, the library will be emailing out a list of events every Monday morning to those who would like to receive it.  Each email will contain information about events occurring in the upcoming ten days.  Receiving this newsletter will ensure that you always know what is going on at the library!  Call or stop by the circulation desk in the library for more information or to sign up.
