This group gathers on the first Monday of each month to discuss books selected by the participants. This month’s selection is Good Days Work: an Iowa farm in the Great Depression by Dwight W. Hoover. Good Days Work recalls the events of day-to-day life on a farm, offering detailed descriptions of daily work in each of the year's four seasons. It is a fascinating reminder of what it was like to be a child with adult responsibilities and is an honest re-creation of a world that was vanishing. Everyone is welcome to come, listen and share. Bring your lunch, if you wish. Dessert and beverages are provided by the participants or the Friends of the Library. Copies of the book are available to borrow from the library.
