This recently released film tells the true story of Christopher McCandless. After graduating from college, McCandless, a top student and athlete, abandoned all his possessions, gave his entire savings account to charity, and hitchhiked to Alaska to live in the wilderness. Four months later he is found dead. Using his diary, letters, and notes found at a remote campsite, author Jon Krakauer put together the story of what happened in the book that became this film. Into the Wild is rated R. Popcorn and beverages provided by the Friends of the Library.
