The summer reading program theme this year for all ages is Build a Better World! All programs offer incentives to read and use the  library. Many special events and activities will be offered. Please visit our Summer Reading Program page for information on all three programs.  The adult program begins June 1. The Children and Teen programs begin June 5.

Build a Better World - Dyersville Scavenger Huntscavenger hunt

Do you know there are special and unusual buildings in your community? Look around! During the month of June, the JKPL encourages you to look for these special landmark buildings and locations.  Pick up a form at the library showing various locations in Dyersville or print one out. Identify all of the locations and turn it in at the library before July 1.  Everyone who correctly identifies all of the buildings will have their name entered into a drawing for a JKPL goodie bag which includes a Love My Library yard sign, coloring book, wine glasses, and the opportunity to have a book adopted in your name at the library. This program is part of the adult summer reading program but teens are welcome to participate.

Build a Better World: Cardboard Challengecardboard box

What can you make from cardboard? Can you think of a game or interactive creation? Join us on Saturday, June 24 at 10:00am when we’ll supply the cardboard if you supply the imagination!
