Dig Into Iowa Archaeology
Come to the library on Saturday, June 22 at 10:00am and join a representative from the Office of the State Archaeologist, University of Iowa and learn about the work of real “diggers”—archaeologists—and how they uncover and piece together the secrets of past peoples. Make and take a replica artifact to use in a Native American game played by early people in Iowa. All ages welcome.
Dig Into Crime with the Dyersville Police Department
Do you have what it takes to investigate a crime? Then join us on Tuesday, June 25 from 1:00-4:l0pm for this three hour program that will have participants solving a crime using CSI techniques with the guidance of local police. For children who have completed 3rd-5th grades. Registration required as space is limited to 15 participants.
Note: This program will be held at Candy Cane Park and will last 3 hours. Participants are responsible for their own transportation to and from the program.
Paranormal & Horror Movie Club
The Paranormal & Horror Movie Club is a meeting of people who enjoy the creepier side of life and like watching movies. Meetings are on the 4th Thursday of every month at 6:00 pm. A supernatural or horror themed movie will be shown followed by a discussion. All ages welcome, however, the material may have adult themes and may not be appropriate for the young or squeamish. The next meeting is Thursday, June 27 at 6:00pm. For this meeting the group will watch the movie Children of the Corn (Rated R).
Love to play board games, trading card games, hand-held video games or role playing games? Want to meet and make friends with some of your fellow game lovers? Join us on the 4th Friday of every month at 6:00pm for a Game Night. Bring your favorite game and meet, teach, and play with others! All ages welcome. The next game night is Friday, June 28 at 6:00pm.

The JKPL is happy to announce that patrons now have access to digital magazines through Zinio. Zinio is a digital magazine database and you can borrow magazines from the library for free! There are 105 magazines to choose from—including arts & crafts, cars & trucks, pop culture, fashion, travel, fitness, and food. Plus many more! Digital magazines can be read on your computer, tablet, SmartPhones, iPhones, and some eReaders. Ask a library staff member for more information and directions on how to use!
